Following Rawalpindi’s PSL 2026 opener on March 28, 2026, a post appeared on Naseem Shah’s official X (formerly Twitter) account questioning why Maryam Nawaz, Punjab Chief Minister, received VIP treatment at the PSL opening ceremony. The post, which asked why she was treated like royalty at a cricket event, was deleted shortly after it went live.
Naseem Shah’s camp subsequently claimed the account had been hacked. The PCB investigated the claim and, according to WION News (March 31, 2026), formally rejected the hacking explanation, concluding that the post breached Naseem’s central contract with the PCB and the PCB’s social media conduct guidelines.
